Thomas Coughlan is a Graduate of University College Cork holding the Degrees of Bachelor of Civil law (B.C.L.), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Master of Laws (LL.M). Tom completed his Masters Degree by research in the area of Immigration Law (LL.M). Tom was admitted to Practice in the State of New York in 1998 where he was Assistant General Counsel of a Manhattan Hospital. He was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 2007 being one of the few Irish Lawyers admitted to practice before that Court.
Tom has a specialist interest in Immigration and Human Rights Law and represents a large number of clients in these areas pf practice. He also practices in the areas of litigation with a particular emphasis on personal injuries and commercial disputes. Tom also represents clients in all areas of criminal defence and has acted for clients in all Courts in the State.
Tom is an Assistant Lecturer in Law at University College Cork and a Tutor in Law for the Law Society of Ireland. He is a Director of the Irish Institute of Continuing Professional Development and speaks in the areas of immigration law, criminal law and procedure and civil litigation.
Graham Hyde is a Graduate of University College Cork having obtained the Degrees of Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). He specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing and also works in the areas of Family Law, Planning Law, Commercial Disputes, Land Disputes, Employment Law, Criminal Defence and Road Traffic Offences. Graham also practices in the area of personal injuries and has a particular interest in Sports Law.
Clare O'Gorman is a Graduate of University College Cork having obtained the Degree of Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.). She also holds a Diploma in Journalism (M.I.A.). Clare worked as Assistant Legal Advisor to the Pensions Board where her duties included active input into legislation drafting, management of the Board's prosecution cases and dealing with technical queries referred to the Board's Policy, Legal and Actuarial Unit. Prior to joining the firm, Clare worked as a Family Law Solicitor with the Legal Aid Board in Dublin gaining experience in areas such as Judicial Separation, Divorce, Nullity, Maintenance, Custody, Guardianship and Access. She also worked in the area of Child Law. Clare is an Immigration Law Consultant to the office.
Helen Jeffords is a graduate of University College Cork having obtained the Degrees of Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) and Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) and qualified as a solicitor in 2002. Helen practices mainly in the area of Litigation particularly in the areas of Criminal Defence, Road Traffic Law and Civil Litigation. She also works in the areas of Family Law, Conveyancing, Employment Law and Immigration Law.
Helen is a tutor in law for the Law Society of Ireland and is also a course director in the Irish Institute of Continuing Professional Development.
Máire O'Sullivan is a graduate of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick with a Bachelor of Education degree, (B.Ed.) subsequently she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Irish from University College Cork (B.A.) and then obtained a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) also from UCC.
She specialises in the area of Family Law. Following graduation she worked for some years with the Legal Aid Board and is a Solicitor named on the Legal Aid Board private practitioner scheme. She has extensive experience in all areas of family law, inculding, District Court, Maintenance, Guardianship, Custody, Access, Circuit Court, Judicial Separation, Divorce, Adoption, Childcare issues, etc. She also has considerable experience of Hague Convention applications including international child abduction, recovery of maintenance abroad, moving away applications, etc.
She also has considerable experience in Civil Litigation: District Court, Circuit Court and High Court, Road Traffic Accidents, injury at work, etc. Employment Law: Unfair dismissals, bullying and harassment in the workplace, Health safety and welfare at work issues, etc. Criminal Litigation, Probate, Domestic Conveyancing, Debt Collection, Licensing - Auctioneers Licences, Restaurant Licences, etc.
She is a fluent Irish speaker and part time lecturer in University College Cork in the BCL (Law & Irish). Cásanna dlí agus an ghaeilge. She also lectures in the Law Society of Ireland.
